October Art Show: Two Unique Perspectives on the Beauty of Our Region

October Art Show: Two Unique Perspectives on the Beauty of Our Region 150 150 admin

This October, the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum and Art Gallery is excited to present an immersive dual exhibition celebrating the land we live on.

In our Freeze Gallery, artist Marc Brzustowski brings us “The Many Moods of Rose Swanson”, a series of new landscape paintings that showcase the powerful presence of Armstrong’s iconic mountain. Through seasonal shifts and changing weather, Marc invites us to reconnect with the mountain that often fades into the background of daily life.

In our Main Gallery, Linda Lovisa and Shauna Kay present “Reflections of the Okanagan”, a collaborative exhibit designed to reflect both the urban energy and natural tranquility of the Okanagan Valley. While each artist brings their own perspective, the show harmonizes beautifully across our gallery spaces, offering a diverse portrait of our region.

Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, October 2nd from 6–8 PM. Meet the artists and seize the first opportunity to purchase artwork.

The show runs until October 25th and is generously sponsored by Rossworn Henderson LLP, proud supporters of the arts in Armstrong.

September Exhibition: “Four Artists, Unique Expressions” & “Echoes of Our Lineage” — September 4–27, 2025

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 4th, 6–8 PM
Sponsored by Shepherd’s Home Hardware

This September, we are proud to present two remarkable exhibitions running in tandem at the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum & Art Gallery.

Four Artists, Unique Expressions features the vibrant and contrasting work of Vaughn Butland, James Postill, Juve Furtado, and Linda Hunt. These four accomplished artists bring a dynamic blend of realism, impressionism, watercolour, and oil painting to the gallery—each capturing the natural world through their unique lens and lived experience.

Echoes of Our Lineage brings together Patricia L. Smith, Susan Miller, Lisa Figueroa, and Wendy Browne—four artists exploring ancestry, reconciliation, and resilience. Through sculptural installations, quilts, paintings, and mixed media, the exhibit honours women’s strength, the red dress as a symbol of protest, and the voices of Indigenous and settler grandmothers alike.

Join us at the opening reception on Thursday, September 4th from 6–8 PM.

Wine will be available. Admission to the opening reception is free, and entry to the exhibit is by donation.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM.
