Volunteer

Come and join our volunteer community!

THERE are many volunteer opportunities at the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum and Art Gallery. Volunteers manage the operation, do fundraising, process new donations to the museum and archives, do archival research, create displays in the museum, hang shows in the Art Gallery, provide guided tours of the museum, act as docents when staff are unavailable, maintain the building and garden and much more. Since salaries of our part time staff and summer student employees are funded through grants that may vary from year to year, the work that paid staff does may also need to be done by volunteers in order to extend the time period the museum and art gallery are open each year.

IF you are interested in being involved, come to the Museum and Art Gallery on a Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon. This is when most volunteers meet to work on joint projects. If you cannot come on Tuesday morning, phone, e-mail or drop by when the building is open to let us know you want to help. If you want to volunteer we can find a way to fit your schedule.

WE try to match each volunteer’s interests, skills and time schedule to the work that needs to be done. On Tuesday mornings the volunteers stop for a coffee break at 10 a.m. – come in and meet those who are already helping out.
